We simply have more time for you. Traditionally, each primary care provider takes care of around 2000 - 3000 patients. At Smartypants Medicine, a Direct Primary Care practice, we care for around 500 patients or less. By intentional design you will have more time with your provider, more personalized care, and same day or next day acute illness visits guaranteed.

Call, text, or email - we use the latest technology to meet you where you are, figuratively or literally with house call and workplace services included with your membership. We help you navigate the complex healthcare system and provide you support if you are hospitalized or seeing a specialist. You are our priority.

As in every other industry, you deserve to know the cost before you buy goods and services; now your primary care costs are fully transparent. You know what you're getting, no surprise bills. Health insurance is great for high cost medical needs, but it needlessly complicates and drives up the cost of routine medical care. Kelly Botta, PA-C, MSPAS
Owner | Founder
Kelly is a board certified physician assistant and graduate of Shenandoah University's top ranked Physician Assistant program where she earned her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, the terminal degree for physician assistants. She has over ten years of clinical practice in Internal Medicine, as well as Urgent Care and Emergency Medicine experience. Her professional interests include: patient education, preventative care, orthopedic conditions, procedures, and managing chronic diseases.
Kelly started Smartypants Medicine, a Direct Primary Care practice, with a goal of bringing innovative, patient centered care to Winchester that is personalized, professional, and preventative focused. She serves as the Northern Shenandoah Regional Coordinator for the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Kelly is married to Jeff, a local physical therapist, and together they have three young children. She enjoys spending time with her family, home DIY projects, adventure activities, and anything sports or fitness related.​
